Like many other services, unfortunately, the answer is "it depends". A number of factors can cause your specific project to take longer than others. These factors include but are not limited to: overall floor size of the project; complexity of the floor layout specifically regarding closets, hallways, and other hard to reach areas; general floor preparation including moving furniture and removing old carpets; the application of staining and color treatment. We can provide a much more accurate timeline when we see the home in person and we make every effort to stick to said timeline.

This is a very common concern in terms of cleanliness and especially in terms of health. The sanding machines commonly utilized in the industry create fine dust as a byproduct and you certainly don't want to be breathing that in. At HC Hardwood Floors, we understand the concern and use several tools and processes to limit the spread of dust. All of our primary sanding equipment have dust collection capabilities, in the form of cloth bag and vacuum attachments. Additionally, you may see us hang plastic to seal off rooms, vents, and cabinetry which in and of itself, is very effective.

Yes, we can certainly add on to the quote to remove and dispose of old carpeting and as well as any staples and tack strips. This applies as well to laminate floors and any other flooring material needed to be removed.
While moving furniture is not one of our services, we can certainly help move smaller items but beyond that, we advise to engage professional movers as they would have the skills and the insurance to cover potential damages.

Based on you and/or your family's lifestyle, your floors may take more of a beating when compared to others. Because there are so many variables involved, it is difficult to say if and when a repair/recoating is needed. Risk factors to consider but not limited to are: fluctuations in home temperature and humidity causing expansion and contraction; pets with long nails often causing scratches; scratching from furniture without padding. Generally speaking, we believe recoating should be done once every 5 to 10 years.
